The UFO Disclosure Hopes That Fizzled: How Momentum Under Trump Has Stalled For Now

Written by Christopher Sharp - 15 March 2025

It wasn’t supposed to be this way.

For some time, relationships had been carefully cultivated with members of the new Trump administration.

Lue Elizondo, Former head of the Pentagon’s UAP investigation program, AATIP (Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program) had even made multiple appearances on Donald Trump Jr.'s podcast

Key positions were filled by individuals who had previously advocated for greater transparency on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP).

Notably, the newly appointed Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, even appears in a documentary film exploring what is claimed to be the greatest cover-up of all time—one involving multiple groups of non-human intelligence.

Under the Trump administration, it had been expected that a key appointment would be made within the National Security Council to orchestrate the disclosure of UAP information.

For once, we were set to see the full muscle of the White House backing UAP transparency.

After all, that had been the plan from day one of the modern disclosure effort, but under a President Hillary Clinton.

But she lost. And so too, was her promise to “open the files as much as we can.”

The man who currently occupies the White House - who triumphed over Clinton - President Trump, has himself acknowledged receiving briefings on UAP.

When asked by podcaster Lex Fridman whether he would push the Pentagon to release more UAP footage, President Trump responded enthusiastically: “Oh yeah sure I’ll do that, I would do that, I’d love to do that, I have to do that.”

So far, there has been no public effort to release such footage, in contrast to the declassification of records related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.—campaign promises Trump pursued through executive orders.

Government sources tell Liberation Times that intelligence and defense priorities are heavily concentrated on the Ukraine conflict, as former President Trump actively seeks a peace agreement.

Consequently, attention towards other pressing matters, such as UAP, in their words, “requires patience”.

Tulsi Gabbard, the newly appointed Director of National Intelligence, who has committed to prioritizing the UAP issue, is still settling into her role.

Additionally, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), dedicated to investigating UAP, is situated within the office of newly-appointed Deputy Secretary of Defense, Stephen Feinberg.

If confirmed as Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence (PPDNI), Aaron Lukas, will share oversight of AARO alongside Feinberg.

Once Feinberg and the new PPDNI are settled in their positions, we will find out whether their reign will usher in greater transparency from the AARO and greater efforts to investigate alleged hidden UAP programs.

Liberation Times understands that ongoing discussions frequently occur between members of the Trump administration and prominent figures involved in UAP advocacy.

But so far, these meetings have resulted in zero action taken by the White House.

If the White House has prioritized UAP in conversations with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate Leader John Thune, there has been little to show for it.

Notably, there is still no sign of a UAP Select Committee—an entity that could subpoena witnesses and conduct a thorough investigation into the allegations.

Such a committee could question Lockheed Martin executives supposedly involved in efforts to transfer alleged non-human materials to the Department of Homeland Security in 2011, as well as those accused of blocking the deal.

Congress remains a place of frustration on the topic of UAP.

Despite holding a historic UAP hearing in 2022, the House Intelligence Committee, under Republican leadership, has since faced allegations of obstructing transparency efforts.

Former Chair Mike Turner was allegedly instrumental in opposing major Senate-backed UAP legislation.

When asked by Liberation Times, the committee’s new chair, Representative Rick Crawford, declined to comment on his stance regarding UAP.

His stance is key, especially if Senate UAP legislation re-emerges.

Following a dramatic UAP Hearing held by Representative Nancy Mace last year, any momentum appears to have disappeared - with House Oversight Committee members now turning their focus towards the Epstein files and the JFK assassination.

Much like the 2023 hearing featuring whistleblower David Grusch, we may see annual UAP hearings that generate headlines but result in little meaningful follow-through or investigation.

However, UAP advocates such as Representatives Burlison, Luna, and Burchett are not to blame.

Rather, the stagnation stems from a lack of leadership and direction on UAP from both the White House and congressional leadership.

Dan Farah, the director behind the documentary movie, known as ‘The Age of Disclosure’, in which Marco Rubio appears, has stated that he has been ‘told by leaders in both political parties that they intend to use the film as a stepping stone to bring the truth out.’

This remains a possibility, but only time will tell.

Promises of transparency by the Trump administration, even on the issue of mysterious drones over New Jersey, have fallen flat, with White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt claiming the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had approved the drones for research.

This overlooked several critical points, including the fact that the FAA had issued restrictions in response to these incidents, as well as the broader context of drones or unidentified objects repeatedly breaching sensitive U.S. military installations abroad, notably in countries such as Germany and the United Kingdom.

Following an upcoming report on mysterious drones incursions over sensitive U.S. facilities by 60 Minutes, Karoline Leavitt’s comments may come back to haunt the White House.

Time is no longer a luxury that UAP disclosure can afford. The effort can ill afford indecision from the White House.

Liberation Times understands that whistleblowers and witnesses - and their families - continue to be targeted by figures associated with the intelligence community and the Pentagon due to their UAP advocacy efforts.

Alarmingly, those involved in alleged UAP reverse engineering programs fear that ongoing secrecy, lack of coordination and a lack of resources will allow Russia and China to surpass the U.S., potentially threatening American global dominance.

For them, it’s a pressing problem which can no longer remain ignored.
