Department of Defense Confirms UFO Chief Did Write Scathing Letter Following Public Hearing

Written by Christopher Sharp - 29 July 2023

Liberation Times has received confirmation from Department of Defense (DoD) spokesperson Susan Gough, that the Director of the Pentagon’s Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) Office, known as the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), published a scathing letter criticizing certain elements of Congress, as well as UAP whistleblower David Grusch.

The AARO’s Director, Dr Sean Kirkpatrick, in a personal statement posted on his LinkedIn page, criticised this week’s Congressional Hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), saying he was 'deeply disappointed at the denigration' of civil and Defense staff.

Kirkpatrick issued a statement on Friday 28 July, calling the testimony 'insulting' and claimed that whistleblower David Grusch was 'never a representative' to the AARO.

Confirming the authenticity of Kirkpatrick’s letter, Gough told Liberation Times:

“The Department is aware of Dr. Kirkpatrick’s post, which are his personal opinions expressed in his capacity as a private citizen and we won’t comment directly on the contents of the post.

“We do want to reinforce the Department’s unwavering commitment to openness and accountability to the American people and Congress. The dedicated military service members, civilian personnel, and federal contractors who support AARO’s efforts are deserving of the full confidence of our lawmakers and the American public.

“While much remains to be done to fulfill AARO’s mandate, AARO’s committed team has made great progress since its establishment only a year ago.”

In his letter, Kirkpatrick also seemed to express criticism about information being directly provided to Congress, bypassing his office. He appeared to criticize Congress for this situation, as he wrote:

‘Some information reportedly provided to Congress has not been provided to AARO, raising additional questions about the true commitment to transparency by some Congressional elements.’

This may relate to knowledge of alleged retrieval and reverse-engineering programs associated with non-human intelligence. It should also be added that there is no public interface for whistleblowers to contact the AARO.

Susan Gough added in her response following the fallout:

“AARO welcomes the opportunity to speak with any former or current government employee or contractor who believes they have information relevant to the congressionally-mandated historical review, and AARO has established a safe and secure process for individuals to come forward with information to aid in this effort.”

At the hearing, Grusch was asked by Representative Tim Burchett if anyone had been “murdered” as part of government efforts to cover-up UAP information.

Grusch responded:

“I have to be careful asking [sic] that question,” he responded, citing an investigation into whether or not he was the subject of retaliatory action for whistleblowing. “I directed people with that knowledge to the appropriate authorities.”

During the subcommittee hearing, Grusch also alleged that people had been “harmed or injured” while attempting to cover-up UAP information.

Addressing this allegation which was given under oath by Grusch, Gough stated:

“The Department has no information that any individual has been harmed or killed as a result of providing information to AARO.  Any unsubstantiated claims that individuals have been harmed or killed in the process of providing information to AARO will serve to discourage individuals with relevant information from coming forward to aid in AARO’s efforts.”

There is no indication from the DoD that Kirkpatrick is no longer the Director of the AARO, despite publishing the letter, which was likely done without clearance.

Liberation Times does however understand that Kirkpatrick's position as AARO Director may be untenable.
