UFO Sightings Per State

Here’s something cool - we’ve used data from the U.S. National UFO Reporting Center to create maps showing where the most UFO sightings take place.

Click on the state to see how many sightings in total and per person.

• As you can see, in total, California is way out ahead, in front of Florida and Oregon respectively.

• But when you look at the data per person, the map changes and Vermont becomes the UFO capital, followed by Montana and New Hampshire.

• On the flipside, per person, red states, such as Texas, Alabama and Mississippi recorded the lowest amounts of cases, perhaps dispelling old stereotypes.

• Washington State ranks high on both maps.
